These 3 in the OC...

Once again, the cousin's OC adventure did not disappoint.

Disneyland?

Um, OF COURSE!!!

There was minor moment when Cole was the only one not to pass the height requirement on Indiana Jones. It was a bummer to go forward without him and Grandpa Steve...But, we had to for Ian and Audrey (it was her first time on such a scary ride).

When we buckled up, she just looked over at me and said, Mama, hold me the whole time.

When we got off, I asked,
 Audrey, did you like it???

Kinda, she replied.

When we got back outside to Grandpa Steve and Cole, we caught them mid-PROJECT ELEVATION. It was perfect. Grandpa saved the day with napkins stuffed in Cole's shoes! The two got to right Indiana Jones afterall!!

I even gave Cole my cool shades to wear as a disguise to get through the entry.
He was so happy!

John couldn't be there with us all day, but joined after work.

I think he made the most of his few hours at Disneyland.

Space Mountain.

The next day was beautiful and relaxing in Laguna Beach!

And on Sunday, we caught a ballgame!

These three love being together...
And are so, so loved too.

Let's Make Play Dough!!!

Here's what you'll need:
1 cup white flour
1/4 cup salt
2 teaspoons food coloring
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 tablespoons cream of tartar
1 cup water
Medium Pot
Plastic Bags

Getting Ready:
1. Mix flour, salt and cream of tartar in a medium pot.
2. Add water, food coloring and oil.

Cooking:

1. Stir over medium heat for 3-5 minutes. Don't worry if the mixture looks like a globby mess; it'll turn into dough!

2. When the mixture forms a ball in the center of the pot, turn off the stove and let it cool. Then take it out of the pot and put it on a floured surface. Squish it and punch it around a bit.

3. When you're done, put it in a plastic bag or airtight container and store it in the fridge.

...................................................................................................

Comments: Audrey really enjoyed making play dough together... That is, until she got hurt.
Naturally, I was constantly reminding her... don't touch, don't touch the pot, don't touch near the flame, be careful, you'll get burned, it's HOT!!!!

She was listening. But, when she thought I wasn't looking, she just purposefully and quickly touched the flame. She was curious.

Some serious ice and kisses helped... But, her pride in that homemade play dough was the best medicine!

Reno -> Elko -> Twin Falls -> Jarbidge -> Sun Valley

We have been busy this summer.

But, after John took his boards (which he has since passed with flying colors, whoop!), we took a week off of work and went on a whirlwind summer vacation!!

First stop: Reno.

Actually, specifically spent a few nights at David Walley's in Gardnerville for Travis and Tracee's (oh so beautiful) wedding!!

Let's just say the night was a bit of a blur...

In the best way possible with some of the best friends ever

.
.

The next day we drove out to Elko.
Thanks again to family friends, Al & Cyd, for letting us stay in their insanely beautiful ranch homes for the night.

It would have been nice, and really relaxing, to have stayed at the ranch longer...
But, our next destination was calling:

Twin Falls.

It was Mom, Mike and Katie's first visit to Twin Falls, so we hit the key attractions like The Shoshone Falls.

The Snake River.

An evening BBQ at Dierkes.

And, just a few trips to the hotel's pool.

But, vacation didn't stop there because from Twin Falls we also took two day trips!

Just about a 50 mile dirt road into some corner of Nevada, you'll find this little hidden gem, rich in character.

And, rich in other ways, we also spent an afternoon in Sun Valley.

It was the perfect summer adventure!
