Butterflies.

Tonight I was snuggling with Audrey in her "big girl bed" and out of the blue she said-

"Mommy, I love butterflies."

Uh, seriously. Oh my God "you do??? Audrey, you couldn't be more perfect."

I haven't even had time to tell her about butterflies. That they are perfect, and beautiful, and graceful, and magical and that I really loved them too...

This is all happening so fast.

.......................................................................
And, I'm so SO SO behind on this blog. My family history. My journal of stories, funny Audrey-isms, just like this....

I really can't even come up with a clever way to catch you up, except to say that I think Audrey's taking after me... Becoming our personal, family photographer/historian. She's pretty good too. Here's a sample of her most recent work:

This one's called: Mama.

Simple Pleasures.

Caught You!

Guilty.

Silly Daddy.

Huh?

Jesse, what are you doing here?

My Daddy.

You may not know this, but I'm going to Tahiti... Tomorrow.
Yeah, I know. Just this little place called Motu Teta, an all-inclusive PRIVATE ISLAND resort. Just for the weekend. #nobiggie

Since I'll be out of town, and since I'm so BEHIND on blogging NE-way....John, you're up sweetie-honey-boo-bear-lover. ;)

Post for me.

I want Easter bunnies. I want colored eggs. I want dresses and bonnets and candy.
I want pure Daddy-Daughter- Mamma's living it up on a private island in Tahiti so what the hell- we're not jealous-fun.

You've got the password. You know what you're doing (this isn't your first time, remember this post you authored here). According to the stats, it's still one of my most popular blog posts of all time, geez thanks a lot.

Do not disappoint. I'll miss you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Laguna Canyon

I don't know why it took us almost two years to hike through Laguna Canyon.

It was a beautiful, cool day.
A little cloudy, but the views (particularly of the ocean at the top) were still impressive.

We need to have more days just like this...

She was ok. ;)

Hope you have a lucky St. Patrick's Day!!!

Girl's Day

After a work trip to Florida, Audrey and I needed some #major girl time.

So, we spent our girly day with Minnie...

.
.
.

And Tinkerbell landed RIGHT in Audrey's hand.

We danced with friends (and stole the show).

We ate girly ice cream.

.
.
.
And, Audrey made a new friend she really loved.

If you're REALLY Audrey-obsessed, you'll love this video.

Our girls day was the best.

Celebrating Grandpa Dan.

One month ago, we lost Grandpa Dan.

To be honest, I wasn't sure about publishing this post {until John accidentally hit publish on a VERY rough draft a few weeks ago. It was days until I realized it, unfortunately}.

I felt like Dan's celebration of life might be too personal for the WORLD-wide-web. Why recap it online when those who knew and loved him the most were there in person???

Because not everyone was there.

Then I realized why I started this blog in the first place, and continue to keep it current {semi-regularly}---

To keep those we love, near and far, in-the-know.

.

To keep a family history.

.

To enjoy spending some of my {limited} free time in a creative, reflective, honest space.

.
.
.

Call me an over-sharer, but this is my church.

Plus, I know there's a lovely couple on the other side of the world who were sad not to be there in person, and would appreciate some specifics.

.
.
.

It was a beautiful celebration.

Old friends from the guard, bowling buddies, fellow Serbs, lifelong friends, loved ones and more were there to support, share stories, and remember such a special man. He was very loved.

The place was packed.

The kiddos really lit up the room too, as usual.

And, Luciano's was once again the very best, most meaningful location to host this special event.

.....................................................................................................................................................

It was an unforgettable day, for an unforgettable man.
