I'm worried...

Jesse's not well.

I was hoping he'd feel better after a good night's sleep...But, he's still not himself this morning...

He had a follow up visit at the vet yesterday to make sure his eye/skin infections were clearing up. They are much better. We have a preventative plan in place, and I think it's really going to help.

Naturally, Jesse was behind on a few of his vaccinations, so we caught up while we were in the office.

It's always SOMETHING, isn't it?

Anyway, he's definitely having a reaction.

Take a look at this photo- he's in our shower! He kept jumping in, like he was ONLY comfortable laying in the shower... He certainly didn't want a bath, but he wanted to sleep there and be alone. He's sleeping a lot, and not interested in moving so far this morning...

I hope he feels better soon.

Ahhhhh..... springtime.

Audrey and I shared a lovely afternoon yesterday resting at the park with another mommy-daughter duo. We played, sang songs, chased doggies, and enjoyed the sunshine. I think Audrey was showing off in front of her new friends too. I can't even begin to tell you the cute, adorable, funny, silly things she was doing and saying. Once again, I was a proud mama.

I let her run free at the park. It's a big, open grassy space and I can safely watch while allowing her to feel independent. She kept her distance from me too, testing the limits.

When she got as far as comfortably possible, she stopped and squatted. Something got her attention, and it looked fun. Afraid it might have been dog poop, I called for her.

"Audrey, come here please."

Yeah right. That doesn't work.

And, naturally right when I stood up to go get her myself she started running in my direction.
I sat back down.

As she approached me, I could see she was holding something tightly in her hand.
Great, I thought. Say bye-bye park and playdate, it's bath time.

Fortunately, I was wrong...And, pleasantly surprised.

She ran right up to me, and with a gift for mama she immediately put this little piece of springtime joy in my hand.

For me????????

Melt. My. Heart.

Audrey could clearly tell I was so excited by her gift. And so, she made it a game.

Back and fourth.
Running.
Picking.
Smiling...

Making my day.

On My Love List: Personal Art

Love, Love, LOVE that Mato and Amy painted these of each other.

So personal, so creative, so unique,
so lovely.

You two make a fantastic pair, and thank you again so much for sharing a piece of your Austin life with us!! We loved it!!

But wait, there's more!

On Tuesday, Amy was in charge of entertaining us... And, as usual, she was fabulous

Although Audrey's not-so-nap-schedule didn't cooperate, we still accomplished a TON!!!

We visited a few famous Austin parks,
drove through some fancy neighborhoods {nice},
and climbed Mount Bonnell-

We also toured the Texas State Capitol.

AND, if that STILL wasn't enough- we've also got some Austin Children's Museum for y'all.

What do you think?

It was ANOTHER super-fun-jam-packed-rootin'-tootin'-kinda-day!!!

....................................................................................................................................................

Speaking of construction, the boys might be disappointed if I forget to journal their amahzing craftsmanship in Austin as well.

You can tell that Mato and Amy have put a ton of work into their house.
It's adorable.

And, it was a real team effort (that included everyone except me), but by the end of our trip- Mato and Amy were left with custom, wooden planter boxes ready for flowers, herbs, vegetables and more!

Nice work!

Before heading to the airport on Wednesday afternoon, we had lunch at the Hula Hut- a fun mexican restaurant on Lake Austin (or Lake Travis, I can't remember).

We were sad to leave, but it was a great vacation.

The End.

Gruene & The Alamo

Can I get a YEEHAW for Audrey's first cactus?

...........................................

Mato and Amy obviously put a lot of thought into our visit because each day has been super fun and really unique.

We started the day about 45 minutes outside of Austin, at a quietessential Texas old-towne- Gruene.
Sort of like a classed-up Virginia City.

We started with lunch at a great restaurant, and then just casually walked around the town and through a few of the fun shops.

After a few hours we continued our day, and headed south another 30 minutes to San Antonio.

First up:

The Six Flags of Texas

John's not impressed with the Alamo's hospital.

Then, across the street and down a few stairs is the well-known San Antonio Riverwalk.

A really beautiful, fun day!
