Thank God I came out of my shell. 

I used to be so shy, and I mean PAINfully shy.
Ok, ok. Maybe hard for some of you to believe. But, trust me. 

Middle school was good for me.

Lately though, I've been striking up conversation with practically anyone with a baby who looks like they want to chat {or not, fine} at the park.

I gotta put myself out there, meet new people, make friends...Geez.

Thick beard, oversized muscles {i mean, beer belly} plus overwhelming tattoos? What's up!
OMG-BOOM-BEAUTIFUL-MEGA-ROCK-HOLY-DIAMOND-RING-RICH? Nice to meet you!
Pesticides in the grass worrying you, and giving your baby a skin rash? I hear ya, sista!


It's only been four months...It's not going to happen over night, but I'm trying.
And, succeeding. 

We had one couples' dinner date on Monday night in downtown HB during the Halloween Kids Festival.
#fun!

And, OMG girl has ended up being #amazing!


She is soooooooo nice, has been beyond helpful {introduced me to her nannies who may be helping me with Audrey too...and yes, plural- she has one child...multiple nannies...#superrich}, and she has a sweet 11-month-old-son.

#winning!

We've been talking/texting almost everyday this week, and we have had a few play dates at her house, and the park.

Oh and, she owns a pole dancing {exercise...duh} studio in the super-snooty-south-orange-county.

HB Trip: Day One

Despite getting about (ummmmm) 5 hours of sleep....

Our Haunted House!

It's getting spooky around here!

I'm not necessarily HUGE on Halloween, but this year's an exception. 

We have guests coming tonight, and we can. not. wait.


In a few hours, we'll play host (in our 2 bedroom, 1 bath) to some Reno-favorites:
Judy, Steve, Jason, Ian, Cole, Mato & Amy (a couple transplants).

Woo hoo!!!

But, I should back up. I have a feeling you'll be hearing LOTS about our weekend in the coming days...

Rewind.

John, Audrey and I have been looking forward to this weekend for MONTHS!

What should we do? 
Where should we go? 
Who's sleeping where?


And, I've been decorating! 

{Thanks Mom for getting me hooked on decorating for the holidays. I see now why you enjoyed it so much.}

Sure, Audrey's too young to really get excited or understand what's going on. Don't worry honey, you'll get it one of these days...But, Ian and Cole- they're the perfect age! This is going to be fun!

Let me give you a cyber-tour....

Let's be honest, I don't have the budget, nor the storage space to go TOO CRAZY. I just focused on this one room- our living room.

My favorite find was this burlap "spooky" sign... Don't you love it?!?!

And, instead of buying mass-produced Halloween art, signs or stickers for the house- I turned to other blogs to find these great FREE printables! I printed out a variety of pictures, just on regular white paper, and framed them over some of the family photos we already have around the room.

And, Judy turned me on to this little gem...She uses Wordle with her students to make word clouds...

Me? I just entered my own variety of Halloween words in the system, and again, just printed out on white paper and framed. Oh, and I colored "BOO" orange...Pretty fun!

Good Thoughts...

You know what else is scary? 

My carved pumpkin.

It's SOOOOOOOOOO insanely moldy, and has become a nest to thousands of bugs that I've never even seen before...

It's, unfortunately {but fortunately}, in the trash now.

Big Girl!!!!!!

Oh and...

If our AMAZING, super fun, birthday party, pumpkin day wasn't enough...

We also had time to catch the AVP {Pro} Men's Beach Volleyball Championship Match in front of the Hilton Waterfront in Huntington Beach.

It was a bit chilly, and actually MUCH smaller overall than I was expecting, but still so AMAZING!!!
Such a great game! And, since the crowd was thin- we had PERFECT seats near the front!

Sigh....I just can't believe that awesome events like this are LITERALLY a five-minute walk from our house!!

Wow!

I love it here. 

{Sideout note: the #1 team in America was defeated. HUGE upset.}
