Gruene & The Alamo

Can I get a YEEHAW for Audrey's first cactus?

...........................................

Mato and Amy obviously put a lot of thought into our visit because each day has been super fun and really unique.

We started the day about 45 minutes outside of Austin, at a quietessential Texas old-towne- Gruene.
Sort of like a classed-up Virginia City.

We started with lunch at a great restaurant, and then just casually walked around the town and through a few of the fun shops.

After a few hours we continued our day, and headed south another 30 minutes to San Antonio.

First up:

The Six Flags of Texas

John's not impressed with the Alamo's hospital.

Then, across the street and down a few stairs is the well-known San Antonio Riverwalk.

A really beautiful, fun day!

Coloring Easter Eggs

Still having a BLAST in Austin!

Audrey didn't care much about coloring Easter eggs, but the rest of us had fun!

Hard to see, but it says "Audrey"

Amahzing...

According to Mato, I still haven't seen anything yet!

Our first full day in Austin was, as John would saying,  AMAHZING!!

We started at the Solaro Winery, a popular spot along the Texas Wine Trail.

This is hill country, not the flat, brown Texas that I had imagined for some reason.

It's BEAUTIFUL here!!!

And, the wine wasn't bad either.

Dance! Dance! Dance! The LIFE of the party...always!

After our pre-dinner tasting, we went to
the Salt Lick...

This. Was. An. Amahzing. Place.

What could be better than-
family-style,
all you can eat,
BBQ ribs, sausage, beef brisket,
BYOB,
in all its BIGGER IN TEXAS glory?

Nothing, y'all.

I LOVED my first trip to the Salt Lick.

I'm off for some traditional Easter Sunday fun! Hope you have a wonderful day too!

Spoiler Alert: Audrey LOOKS amahzingly beautiful in her Easter dress...
{Just wait until you see it.}

Just PLANE fun!

Now, that's what I call Good Friday.

As if it was an Easter miracle, Audrey was amahzing on the plane yesterday.

Her jet-setting schedule is demanding.

On Wednesday, she was up and on her way to Reno at 5:30am.
On Thursday, she played all day with Grandma and Grandpa H. before heading to LAX at 8:00pm.
And then yesterday, we made the trip from Orange County to LA, and finally to Austin!

I need to sign her up for frequent flyer points!

Happy to be in Austin, and looking forward to kicking-back and finally-
RELAXING!
